In honor of this weekend’s 24 Hours Of Le Mans race & the reveal of the new Ford GT40 that will compete at next year’s 24 Hours Of Le Mans (2016), this is the Ford GT40 #1075 racing in the 24 Hours Of Le Mans in 1968.
Since the 1968 competition was held in September instead of June, due to political unrest, the Ford GT40 #1075 battled unusually cold & wet conditions to win; it won again in 1969. The Ford GT40 #1075 won 4 other races: BOAC International 500 (1968), Spa 1000-kilometer (1968), Watkins Glen 6-hour (1968) & Sebring 12-hour (1969).

The GT-40 history on the Wikipedia page is pretty interesting. Thanks for featuring it!
