This was the 1st year of the Sears AD Universal, which replaced the Series AC International models. While it was available in many body types (2-door coupe, 4-door sedan & delivery van), sales dropped by over 200,000 to just under 641,000 for the model year. Among the differences, the AD’s fuel gauge was on the dash panel, vs. on the tank with the AC. A year later the Series AE Independence was introduced.
Any idea what caused the sales to drop?
No, I’m not sure, Ben.
