October 2010, I road tripped to the northeast United States. Along the way, visiting Boston MA had to include a stop to see Fenway Park. Walking around the ballpark, I ventured into the Bleacher Bar, where I took this photo through a wire fence.
I was here 08/08/2010, the 22nd anniversary of the original (rained out) night game at Chicago’s Wrigley Field (08/08/1988). Fenway is Major League Baseball’s oldest park; Wrigley is the 2nd oldest.
I got to go to a game there when I was out in the area for work. The whole atmosphere is pretty cool. The thing that I thought was the weirdest was when they started singing Sweet Caroline instead of the 7th inning stretch!
Yeah, that is weird, Ben! So, which atmosphere is “cooler”: Fenway or Wrigley?
They are different. Fenway was completely remodeled when I went, so it’s a really cool feel how the streets outside are just part of the park. It just felt more revamped than Wrigley. I think that’s what they are trying to do with Wrigley now. I guess I’m a bit spoiled from living so close and going to so many games at Wrigley. I guess I’ve never stopped to think much about it.
