Other opportunities he turned down to focus on writing his own music include the song “Danger Zone” (from the 1986 film ‘Top Gun’). This song was released 01/21/1984 as the debut single from his debut album, 1983’s ‘1st Offense’, & has become a staple of 1980s pop rock & new wave.
