Something to keep in mind….  I’ll receive fresh scars when I go in for a pacemaker replacement, 03/25/2015.  The office follow-up is a week later, of all days, 04/01/2015, April Fool’s Day!  Do you have any scar roadmaps?

  1. I hope your surgery goes well for you and that you heal quickly. I hope you aren’t offline for too long! I’ll be praying for you!

I’m sure you know that Jessica had 5 heart surgeries: one scar went from underneath her right arm and all the way around to her back, she was opened up midline 3 times and the 5th one was between two of her ribs just above the heart. She had many other minor surgeries including cut downs on her arteries, removal of extra digits and a very long scar on her leg to relieve a hematoma. She had to have a wound-vac for that one which was better than being packed (which she had to have for a week because the idiot surgeon didn’t set up wound care for her in advance! But the worst scars were emotional. PTSD, anxiety and depression were very difficult for her to deal with.

I will be sporting some new scars on May 1st because I’m having major surgery. I’ll be having a complete hysterectomy. My doctor will be doing microsurgery and I’ll have small incisions but I will still have a lot of healing to do on the inside. I hope I’m not offline for too long after that surgery either.

  2. Thank you, Nancy! It should be a “routine out-patient” procedure, but the last pacemaker replacement wasn’t, so … trying not to count any chickens! Hopefully won’t be offline too long.

Yep, I sure do remember Jessica having 5 surgeries. The emotional scars are ones not well seen, but sometimes cut deeper.

Thoughts/prayers for your surgery in May!
