This song, their 2nd release behind 1996’s “6th Avenue Heartache”, hit the airwaves 02/24/1997 from their album ‘Bringing Down The Horse’. It became their 2nd widely-successful song & 1st chart topper, claiming #1 on 3 United States charts; it reached #2 on the Mainstream Top 40 & Billboard Hot 100 charts, while notching at #14 in Australia & #54 in England. At the 1998 Grammy Awards, it won twice: Best Rock Song & Best Rock Performance By a Duo Or Group With Vocals.

After success in 1997 with “The Difference” & “3 Marlenas”, the band’s only 1998 release was this song, from the movie ‘Godzilla’. A cover version of David Bowie’s 1977 tune, this group’s version peaked at #26 on the Billboard Hot 100 & #13 in Canada. Ironically, the 2012 film ‘The Perks Of Being A Wallflower’ featured Bowie’s original version.

It was their 2nd song on that chart, behind 2001’s “Letter From The Wasteland” (#12). 3 other releases have notched on that chart, all in the Top 10: 2005’s “The Beautiful Side Of Somewhere” (#5), 2005’s “God Says Nothing Back” (#10) & 2012’s “Reboot The Mission” (#2).
