This song, the 2nd release from their self-titled debut album, hit the airwaves 04/22/2004; it claimed #1 on both the Modern Rock Tracks & Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks charts (their 1st chart topper), while reaching #55 on the Billboard Hot 100. It followed “I Hate Everything About You”, which had also peaked at #55 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Released in 2007 as the 3rd single from the band’s 2nd album ‘One-X’, this song peaked in 2008 at #1 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks, #2 on the Modern Rock Tracks, #12 on the Mainstream Top 40, #13 on the Adult Top 40 Tracks & #71 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts. It was their 3rd straight chart topper on the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart, preceded by 2006’s “Animal I Have Become” & 2006’s “Pain”. It would’ve been their 5th straight chart topper, but 2004’s “Home” peaked at #2.

It was the middle of 3 straight chart toppers, sandwiched between 2009’s “Break” & 2010’s “World So Cold”. From 2012-2014, the band notched a string of 5 straight chart toppers: “Chalk Outline”, “The High Road”, “Misery Loves My Company”, “Painkiller” & “I Am Machine”.
