This English band formed in 1969 under the name Daddy before renaming themselves in early 1970. Though the band started as progressive rock, they eventually incorporated rock & pop.

Released May 1977 as the 1st single from their album ‘Even In The Quietest Moments’, this song became their 1st Top 20 in the United States, reaching #15 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Elsewhere, it peaked at #29 in England & #9 in Norway. Though not included in the film’s soundtrack, a snippet of the song is heard in ‘Superman’, shortly before Lois Lane’s “death” scene.

This song hit the airwaves March 1979 as the 1st release from their album ‘Breakfast In America’. It became their 1st Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, reaching #6. Elsewhere, it reached #7 in England, #16 in Australia, #9 in Belgium, #2 in France, #6 in Ireland & #8 in Portugal. It also claimed #1 in Canada.

The follow-up to “Goodbye Stranger”, this song was released as the 4th & final single from the band’s album ‘Breakfast In America’. Undoubtedly my favorite of this band, the song notched at #10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart & #4 in Canada. Later familiar tunes include 1980’s “Dreamer”, 1982’s “It’s Raining Again”, 1982’s “Crazy” & 1985’s “Cannonball”.
